| discussion questions for all who read this blog:
I have noticed that most of my friends say they do not feel at all ready for marriage. I am engaged and can't wait to be married. I have felt ready for marriage for a year or two, even before I knew Samuel and did not know anyone I wanted to marry. When I started dating Samuel, I immediately started thinking about whether I wanted to marry a guy like him. What makes someone "ready for marriage"? What makes them feel not ready at all? What makes them start thinking about their boyfriends/girlfriends in terms of "would I want to marry you?" Do you feel like you could get married as soon as you find someone you want to marry? Or would you feel "not ready" and back out or make them wait, even if you think you want to marry them somewhere along the road? What do you think it means to be "ready for marriage"? What do you think most people in our culture think it is to be "ready for marriage"? What do you think should happen between a couple before they decide to get married? What is marriage more important than/less important than (should it wait for school, money, ??)?
a few reasons I like Samuel enough to marry him (i will try not to be too mushy): same religion a kind, gentle person loves children hard worker speaks french reads kierkegaard was homeschooled/wants to homeschool children possibly is funny and cute does not intimidate me (like a too tall/big man would, or like a very loud person would) very very smart not a (very) picky eater loves me wants to marry me :)
please discuss!
